How Exness leverage works for a Pakistan-based account
Exness advertises leverage up to 1:Unlimited, but the maximum is conditional. Once an account balance exceeds USD 1,000 or its equivalent, unlimited leverage is no longer available. Around major news releases, new positions are capped at 1:200, and indices are capped at 1:50. For US30, US500, and USTEC, index leverage is fixed at 1:400; the remaining indices are fixed at 1:200.
Leverage multiplies both sides of a trade. A small deposit can control a much larger gold position, which also means a move against the position can erase the margin quickly. Exness lists margin call levels of 60% for Standard accounts and 30% for Pro, Zero, and Raw Spread accounts. Stop out is set at 0% across these account types, and hedged margin is 0%.

Where the risks concentrate in gold trading
Gold price in Pakistan follows international XAUUSD, and Exness publishes no fixed spread for it. The spread floats with the market and is shown live in Market Watch. The sharpest minute in Exness tick history was 12:00 UTC with a move of 60.91 USD, equivalent to 6,091 USD per lot. The calmest minute was 20:00 UTC with 3.29 USD.
Those figures matter because leverage does not change the size of the move; it changes how much of the account is exposed to it. A one-minute move at the sharp end of that range can exceed the balance of a small account before a manual reaction is possible. Negative balance protection is available, but it protects against owing more than the deposit, not against losing the deposit itself.
Account types and what leverage costs
Exness offers four account types: Standard, Pro, Zero, and Raw Spread. Commission differs by account:
| Account | Spread from | Commission |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | 0.2 pips | None |
| Pro | 0.1 pips | None |
| Zero | 0.0 pips | from 0.05 USD per lot per side |
| Raw Spread | 0.0 pips | up to 3.50 USD per lot per side |
Minimum deposit is 10 USD for Standard and 200–3,000 USD for Pro, Zero, and Raw Spread. Lot limits run from 0.01 to 200 lots between 07:00 and 20:59 GMT+0, and to 60 lots between 21:00 and 06:59 GMT+0. Open positions are unlimited.
Whatever you decide here, the account you open should suit your residence and the way you plan to fund it.
Trading conditionsFunding and regulation from Pakistan
Retail forex and CFD trading is not criminalised in Pakistan, but there is no local licensing. SECP does not issue local retail forex or CFD broker licences, and SBP does not allow margin-based currency trading inside Pakistan. Residents trade through offshore brokers regulated abroad, and that is legal only where funding goes through legitimate banking channels. Using Hawala or Hundi, or unregulated platforms that bypass the banking system, is illegal.
Exness operates through several entities, including Exness (UK) Ltd under FCA 730729 and Exness (Cy) Ltd under CySEC 178/12. For a Pakistan-based client, the practical point is not the broker’s global licences but the funding route. Bank transfer plus mobile wallets Easypaisa and JazzCash are used for offshore-broker funding, alongside e-wallets Skrill and Neteller; some residents route via USDT P2P. Base-currency broker accounts are typically USD, rarely PKR, so a PKR-USD conversion cost applies. USD/PKR is rarely offered as a tradable pair.
Islamic accounts and practical constraints
Pakistan is Muslim-majority, and swap-free accounts are effectively a default requirement for most retail traders. Exness offers Islamic accounts on all account types, so overnight riba can be avoided without changing the leverage structure.
The platforms are MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, Exness Terminal on the web, and the Exness Trade app for Android and iOS. Support runs 24/7 in English and several other languages, and 24/5 in 16 languages. Exness offers no bonuses and no contests.
Questions from Pakistan-based traders
Does 1:Unlimited leverage apply to any account size?
No. Unlimited leverage is not available once the account balance exceeds USD 1,000 or its equivalent. Around major news releases, new positions are capped at 1:200.
Is gold trading on Exness halal for a Pakistani trader?
Exness provides swap-free Islamic accounts on all account types, which removes overnight interest. Whether leveraged gold trading is acceptable remains a personal or scholarly decision; the account structure only addresses the swap component.
What happens if Exness leverage moves against a gold position?
Margin call triggers at 60% on Standard and 30% on Pro, Zero, and Raw Spread. Stop out is at 0%. Negative balance protection is available, so the loss is limited to the deposited funds, but the deposit itself can be lost.
Can a Pakistani resident fund an Exness account in PKR?
Base-currency accounts are typically USD, rarely PKR. Funding is usually done through bank transfer, mobile wallets such as Easypaisa and JazzCash, or e-wallets, with a PKR-USD conversion cost applied.
Is Exness licensed by SECP or SBP?
No. SECP does not issue local retail forex or CFD broker licences, and SBP does not allow margin-based currency trading inside Pakistan. Exness operates through offshore entities regulated in jurisdictions such as the UK and Cyprus.
